Former artist’s studio
It’s been 14 years since Isle of Wight artist, Derek Barran, first revealed his plans to auction off the pier, at the end of which sat his artists studio.
He’d had the pier for ten years and had great hopes for what the pier could become – something different, he’d hoped.

The restoration
Following many years of zero action, planning permission was granted for the restoration of the pier and creation of a restaurant at the end of the pier (see the plans).
