Readers may remember the OnTheWight report earlier in the year of tyres being slashed on 37 cars in the Newport/Carisbrooke area.
Police confirm a man has been charged in connection with a “series of damages to vehicles” parked in an area of Newport.
The 67-year-old man from Purdy Road is due to appear at Isle of Wight magistrates court on Tuesday, 7 October.
Inspector Andy McDonald from Newport Safer Neighbourhoods Team said at the time,
“Thousands of pounds worth of damage has been caused to car owners in this small residential area of Carisbrooke.
“This includes a number of repeat victims who have suffered a significant financial burden because of these crimes.”
