Vectis Brass announces festive concert tour across Isle of Wight communities

Vectis Brass are a community organisation based who have been based in Ryde since being formed in 1947. The band has a strong community ethos and believe in making music as accessible as possible for the community.

Vectis Brass teaches students young and old how to play Brass instruments and donations given at Christmas time help to keep this tuition free.

On the concert tour, the band will first visit the Salvation Army Hall in Newport on Sunday 24th November at 2.30pm. This concert will feature the youth and training band as well as the main band.

Next up will be the beautiful St John’s Church, Chawton Lane, Northwood on Sunday 1st December at 3pm.

Finally, the band will visit St Saviours Church in Shanklin on Thursday 12th December at 7.30pm.

Musical Director Jay Taylor said,

“We have been working hard on our Christmas Programme and have a variety of music for everyone to enjoy.

“Collections at Christmas help to keep the band afloat for the rest of the year and we are grateful for to the local community for all their support.”

All concerts will feature traditional carols and festive favourites with tea, coffee and refreshments provided.
