A public meeting is being held tonight, giving members of the public a chance to air their views on the future of the Ventnor Botanic Garden.
Cabinet member, Cllr George Brown will be attending the meeting and listening to the views of the public. The last meeting attracted over 300 concerned residents, who during the course of an hour shared ideas for revenue raising.
As reported last week, some members of the Friends of the Ventnor Botanic Garden are looking at setting up a Development Trust that could take over the running of the public amenity currently subsidised by the Isle of Wight Council.
As Chair of the Friends stated last week, the massive cut to the subsidy by the Isle of Wight council of £160,000 in the first year could only result in staff cuts, hitting the 17 staff.
The meeting starts at 7.30pm and takes place at the Ventnor Winter Gardens.
