A whole range of activities are due to take place at The Community Cafe in Ventnor during March and beyond.
For those of you who don’t know, the Community Cafe is a little gem of a place, situated at 1 Albert Street, Ventnor. It’s run entirely by volunteers, with all sorts of community activities taking place to get involved in – a small place with a big heart!
Lots of courses on offer
We run many courses including: How to make a Textile Wall Hanging, Decorative Embroidery, Fused Glass Light Catchers, How to Make a Decorative Panel using collage, paint and wax as well as the ever popular, Computers for Beginners. If you’re interested in signing up call 853647 for more information.
More Computers for Beginners courses are planned, call 853216 to book onto one of these.
There is a soap-making course running at present and a Cook and Eat a Vegan meal course is starting from 30th March for four sessions.
An introduction to Emotional Freedom Techniques starts on Thursday 31st March 10-11.30am.
A fortnightly Folk Club has started on Wednesday evenings at 8.30pm and there is a new Beginners Guitar course for beginners every Monday at 3-5pm.
Regular activities
Some of the regular activities at the cafe are continuing.
Friday mornings each week, 10.30am – 12.30pm see the Ventnor School of Mosaic in action, making large mosaics for the Botanic Garden (they also meet on Monday evenings) you can make your own mosaic projects as well).
A Writers Group meets on Fridays as well and a vegetarian lunch following at 12.30pm.
Saturday mornings sees the Community Cafe open for coffee and cakes and a new menu. A local Produce Sale also takes place.
The Felt Group meets every fortnight on Tuesday mornings.
A monthly Toy Library starts soon.
