Following the announcement of a by-election for the position of a Town Councillor in the Ventnor East ward, nominations of candidates for the position need to be in with the Returning Officer, Clive Joynes at the Isle of Wight Council by Friday, 10th October.
Readers who have been with us since last year will remember that VentnorBlog gave that by-election election some great coverage, with video interviews and whole board on the forum given over to the candidates. We’re not sure if we’ll be able to do this year.

If you have a little spare time on your hands, and would like to have a hand in helping look after and shape the Town, meetings are only held every two weeks at the Winter Gardens.
There is still time to put yourself forward (or talk someone you know into doing it). All you/they have to do is contact either Clive Joynes on 823 341 or Ventnor Town Clerk, John Farrant, on 855 162.
They will send you the necessary nomination form that is required to be completed and with Mr Joynes by noon on Friday 10th.
