Thanks to forum member, Lowtherville Lout (and my Mum) for pointing us in the direction of the following article in the Guardian today.
It’s titled Coastal charms highlighted in new seaside awards with the subline “Isle of Wight rated highly for its variety of beaches” and is sporting a rather lovely (if outdated) photo of Ventnor beach (not the one on the left).
Under the photo is the caption “Bay watch … Ventnor on the Isle of Wight is noted in the Quality Coast Awards for its suntrap bay on which the terraced town is built.”
In the Guardian article photo you’ll see that the Blakes Fish Hut is missing, the orange house is light blue and the Rex development just a twinkle in someone’s eye.
Anyway, it’s all great publicity for the Isle of Wight and brilliant news for Ventnor.
I don’t have permission to reuse the image in the Guardian, so have used one from the VentnorBlog Flickr group courtesy of Auntie P.
