Last night saw the opening of a new exhibition at Ventnor Library.
Island author, Jan Toms, travelled from Freshwater to officially open the exhibition which consists of works produced by users of the library.
She spoke of Edward Edwards, now buried at Niton, work was the first librarian in the first library and how proud he would have been of the efforts of library campaigners to keep libraries running for all.
Quilting, painting, sculpture, pottery, needlework are just some of the disciplines you’ll see on display until the end of the year, most of which are on sale (need any Christmas presents?).
Well done to the Friends of Ventnor Library and Valerie Bridgeman in particular for pulling this exhibition together.
A great evening was had by all.
