Many thanks to Peter Back and his daughter who sent through photos from yesterday’s school bus incident in Ventnor.
Peter tells us,
“My daughter texted me just after 08.30 yesterday morning (Mon 24th June) to tell me that the school bus that she was riding on (Blue bus no. 330 from Whitwell to Christ the King College) had crashed, but that she was OK.”
According to Peter, the side of the bus came into contact with a lamp post on the corner near Scott’s Hair Salon.
He went on to say that
“As the bus scraped along the lamp post, all the windows on the lower deck shattered, showering the school children with broken glass. The lamp from the post also fell onto the roof of the bus.”
The bus continued a few more yards to the bus stop at Boots the Chemist and the children were asked to get off and wait for a replacement bus.
Peter added,
Concerned passers-by were very helpful and made sure the all the children were OK.
Fortunately there were no serious injuries, but he understands that one child sustained a few minor cuts from the glass.
