Ventnor Town Council Annual Town Meeting

This Monday sees the Ventnor Town Council Annual Town Meeting take place. As you can judge from the title, this meeting only take place once a year.

Ventnor Town Council Annual Town MeetingFrom memory, the dates published for the meeting last year were a little confused and we think that the meeting (please correct us if not true) was not particularly well attended by the public. You never know that may be a different matter this year.

Anyone interested in hearing what the Town Council have been up to over the past year (other than what we’ve reported on VB) will be able to get a summary of the year as each of the officer report what they’ve been up to by pop down to the Ventnor Winter Gardens on Monday night just before 7pm

The meetings are normally held under the stage, but on Monday will be held in the Main Hall – capacity 400. Are they anticipating a large turnout from the public? We hope so.

Anyone with ambitions to take on a role as Town Councillor when the elections come up in May 2009, might like to go along and get a taste of what to expect.

Just for reference, there won’t be a public question time at this meeting. Number 7 on the agenda is public question time – sorry, it wasn’t clear from the wording provided, but we have since been advised by Val Taylor that this is the case (thanks Val)
