There is glorious weather forecast for Saturday, so if you are not at the Isle of Wight Festival, why not head to Ventnor for the weekly Ingram’s Yard Market.
As usual there will be the permanent fixtures, such as Sheer Pink coffee (the beetroot and ginger latte is lush) and East Side Kitchen (their coconut lentil dahl is sensational), as well as this week, a treasure trove of all things vintage.
Vintage heaven
From delicate pottery and glassware, to coffee and tea sets, vintage lampshades and even some clothing.
You’ll be able to pick up some vintage Dunlop sneakers, a Goblin teasmade or some East German Pottery for yourself.
Maslen Fashion
Also making her way to Ventnor will be Isle of Wight artist, Holly Maslen, showcasing her Maslen Fashion range of hand-painted clothing, now including a series of hand-painted ties.
We saw that Holly has recently even been hand-painting swimming costumes (and yes, it survived the sea and the washing machine), so there really is something for everyone.
Paper Pleasures
Added to the bill for tomorrow is Kathy Pilcher from Paper Pleasures Stationery, with her beautiful range of linocuts and illustrated greeting cards and prints.
Yes, of course Ventnor is open!
Whilst you are in Ventnor, make sure you check out all the wonderful independent retailers. There are too many to name here (and I might miss someone out by accident), but they include ethically-produced toys, wonderful handmade beauty products, at least two record shops, lots of hand-made jewellery, art galleries, delicious home-made ice-cream, antiques, wonderful cafes and restaurants and more.
The Bistro has a fantastic collection of art for sale today too!
Make sure you also pop into Ventnor Exchange, the arts hub run the team behind Ingram’s Yard project.
Getting here
If you are coming by car, there are still routes into town: via Wroxall or Whitwell.
Plus Ventnor Town Council offers free parking in their car parks from 10am in Market Street, Pound Lane and Dudley Road.
