The 6pm rally outside Vestas last night saw Mark Smith take to the microphone.
He gave the supporters an update on what had been happening over the past couple of days and reminded people of the lunchtime rallies taking place today on the National Day of Action.
Between 12-2pm there will be rallies in St Thomas’ Square in Newport and outside Thorntons in Ryde High Street.
Between 12.302pm there will be rallies outside Somerfield in East Cowes and by the Pier in Sandown.
Later in the day a huge rally is expected in East Cowes starting at Venture Quays Vestas Factory in Castle Street at 5.30pm.
Islanders are being urged by organisers to show their support on this National Day of Action. They suggest that if you can’t show your support in person at the rallies, to contribute in some other way by taking direct action.

Off the Island there are demo and rallies organised for Southampton, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Oxford, Medway (Kent) as well as two in London.
