The Union movement big guns turned up outside Vestas yesterday to show their support for the sit-in.
Bob Crow, the General Secretary of the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT), delivered a rousing speech to those taking part in the sit-in and their supporters.

Before he spoke, it was announced that the RMT’s solicitors would be going through the legal paperwork and provide lawyers to defend the Possession Order, if required.
It was also clarified that the management of Vestas had not entered into discussions with the protesting employees, as had previously been thought.
Explaining why the RMT were involved with the Vestas sit-in, Bob Crow gave some history to the unions involvement with Off shore, like the divers who put the wind turbines into the sea. He said, by extension, those who create the blades could be covered by the union too.
‘People are not pieces of lemon’
He used an analogy that people shouldn’t be used like pieces of Lemon, “squeezing the juice out of then when working for them, then tossing them to the side when they’re not wanted any more.”
Bob Crow’s view was that those inside the building were not the criminals, but the company was for wanting to shut down the works.
He announced a plane would be flying over with a banner (video of this later) and that if food wasn’t allowed in, the RMT would arrange for a helicopter to fly over and drop food to those taking part in the sit-in. Not surprisingly this got a strong reaction from the crowd.
Reading the above in text doesn’t convey how stirring the delivery was, so have a watch and listen …
