Thanks to Evelyn for this update from Ventnor Timebank. Ed
Ventnor Beach Safety Hut is managed by Ventnor Town Council and offers basic first aid and information to beach goers to ensure people can enjoy the beach in safety.
Manned by volunteers
The Beach Safety Hut is able to offer this service thanks to the existing team of three volunteers who offer their time to the scheme (a maximum of ten hours per week).
For this season, from early May until mid-September, there exists a vacancy for two new volunteers to join the team working in rotas to enable people to fit the volunteering around their existing commitments.
Learn new skills
Volunteers receive full St John’s Ambulance First Aid Training and get to enjoy time down at Ventnor beach, meeting new people and learning more about this fabulous town.
This would be a great opportunity for someone who wishes to volunteer and gain formal training to develop their skills.
For people joining through Ventnor Timebank, Timecredits can be earned on joining the scheme.
