On Friday 13th December, The Black Sheep Bar hosted a night of unpretentious live rock music as Voodoo Raven took to the stage.
The band performed original songs from their latest release, the Lady Liberty four-track EP, captivating a lively and engaged crowd.
A band steeped in rock history
Voodoo Raven brings with them a rich history connected to some of the most seminal names in rock, including Chelsea, UK Subs and Hawkwind.
Their performance on the night delivered powerful, authentic rock music, reminding fans of the genre’s enduring energy.
Raising funds for Operation Geranium
The event was not just about music. Through generous donations and sales of band merchandise, Voodoo Raven raised £70 to support Operation Geranium.
The award-winning community resilience project, which launched in 2020 in partnership with Age UK Isle of Wight, has brought joy and connection to older Islanders.
Funds raised will help keep Operation Geranium “on the road” into 2025.
A night to remember
Adding something special to the evening, performers La La Licorne and Miss Swift Tease delivered a stylish burlesque dance routine.
Their choreography brought a unique flair to the event, elevating it beyond a typical rock gig.
Masterful vinyl mixology
Throughout the night, Jez (aka DJ Nipsy) manned the turntables, spinning rock vinyl with his usual mix of skill and style.
His set provided the perfect backdrop, creating a seamless flow between performances.
Building connections through music
The gig stood out as a celebration of community, originality, and resistance to the mainstream.
Attendees left energised, inspired, and ready to contribute to a fairer, more connected Isle of Wight.
For fans of live, original rock music, this was an evening to remember.
