Jo said,
“I proud to help a charity I have been involved with for many years, I know the work that John’s Club does has helped many people over the years and I happy to to undertake this walk to raise much needed funds.”
Phillips: “I hope that people will get behind them”
John Phillips (Chairman and Founder of John’s Club) said,
“That as people may know though the last couple of years it has been difficult for all charities, we are out of the other side of that and we are looking forward to proving better services with more training.
“But these things all cost money and all charities are finding it difficult, so we are looking at different ways to fundraise. My daughter and John Baker are doing a sponsored walk around the Island that I’m very proud of.
“I hope that people will get behind them, as this will raise important funding to provide some of these services.”
Training and support sessions
John’s Club will also be starting training, information and support sessions from their Hub at 62 High Street in Shanklin.
The Hub has a fully functioning IT suite and it is our intention to provide basic It training in the community with the first session set to be held on Friday 21st April at 10am.
We will also be using the Hub to provide information and support sessions on such subjects at ADHD, Autism and Cerebral Palsy.
The first session we have scheduled is a Dyslexia Awareness session scheduled for Wednesday 19th April at 10am.
