Want a world without poverty, war, hunger or suffering?

If you’re interested in what happens to our society and planet in the future (who isn’t?), this film being screened at Ventnor Exchange next week should be of interest.

‘The Choice is Ours’ is the latest film from The Venus Project (what’s this?) and will be followed by a discussion on Tuesday 8th March (film starts 8pm).

The film is being presented by Heather Odom. Back in 2010 she organised The Venus Project World Lecture Tour for Jacque Fresco (pictured below) and Roxanne Meadows.

They did a whopping 29 lectures in 21 countries. Jacque Fresco, the Director of The Venus Project, will be turning 100 the following week, on 13th March 2016.

This looks like it could be a fascinating film and we expect it will spark some great discussion afterwards.

The Ventnor Exchange bar will be open serving hot drinks, soft drinks, wines, craft beers and spirits.

What is the Venus Project?
No, this is not another awards scheme for women in business, but instead an organisation that “proposes a feasible plan of action for social change, one that works towards a peaceful and sustainable global civilization”.

The Venus Project proposes an alternative vision of what the future can be if we apply what we already know in order to achieve a sustainable new world civilisation.

It calls for a straightforward redesign of our culture in which the age-old inadequacies of war, poverty, hunger, debt and unnecessary human suffering are viewed not only as avoidable, but as totally unacceptable.

Anything less will result in a continuation of the same catalog of problems inherent in today’s world.
