Earlier this year, Isle of Wight artist, Jacob Light, completed this stunning installation in a private residence on the Island.
It features a section of wall-mounted vitreous enamel panels depicting an underwater watercolour scene featuring a range of underwater marine life, including turtles and whales.
Inspired by underwater scenes in Egypt
The panels, which measure 9.6 metres in length and 1.7 metres in height, are mounted alongside a 12 metre swimming pool and are completely splash proof.
Light was inspired by underwater scenes in Egypt, and compiled and purchased 30 photographs to use as reference. The client specified that certain sea creatures, such as clown fish and turtles, were to be included in the final piece.
Glass kitchen splashbacks
In addition to the large watercolour panels in the swimming pool area, Light also created a series of watercolour paintings as glass splashbacks in the kitchen.
The finished result is a stunning and unique addition to the private residence.
The work was commissioned by interior designer, Susie, from Herbert Light Interior Design.
