Island Roads have issued an emergency road closure this morning that may affect readers.
It relates to Harding Shute, a regular shortcut for those travelling to and from Ryde.
The closure notice reads,
Island Roads on behalf of The Isle of Wight Council give notice that from 0900hrs on Monday 21st December 2015 until 1630hrs on Monday 21st December 2015 or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner, no person shall cause any vehicle to proceed along Harding Shute, Ryde from its junction with A3055 Beaper Shute to its junction West Lane.
Diversion Route: A3055 Beaper Shute and Rowborough Lane, Coach Lane and West Lane.
The closure is required due to the narrow width of the road for urgent carriageway ditching works approximately 600 metres south west of the junction with A3055 Beaper Shute.
