Thanks to Kimberly from Dimbola Museum and Galleries for this exciting news about an upcoming exhibition. Ed
At an early age Wayne Levin was given a Brownie camera and a little kit to develop his own film, and from that day on he was hooked on photography.
Now the internationally acclaimed photographer, who has exhibited all over the world, from a major public collection at MOMA, NY to many exhibitions in Tokyo and Hawaii, is now exhibiting for the first time in UK at Dimbola Museum and Galleries.
Underwater landscapes
A rare and gifted photographer, Levin takes the reader on journeys through underwater landscapes from the waters of the Hawaiian Islands to Costa Rica and Micronesia. Much like the master of the ‘Decisive moment’ Henri Cartier-Bresson, in his own underwater world Levin has a way of capturing moments in black and white that have been described as ‘eloquent visual statements of a mysterious world.’
Wayne Levin and Kimberley Piggott, Exhibition Manager, have together selected a broad range of photographs from his collection ‘Through a Liquid Mirror’ that take the viewer on an underwater journey, from diving with humpback whales and discovering sunken relics, to roughing the waves with ‘old school’ surfers.
There really is something for everyone.
It opens on the 29th March and runs until 2nd June. Full details on opening times, etc can be found on the event listing.
