Asphalt plant applicant comment on MP’s letter

Readers may remember the letter from Isle of Wight MP Andrew Turner to Scott Wardrop, Managing Director of Eurovia, the applicant for the proposed asphalt plant at Medina Wharf.

In response to publication of the letter a spokesperson from Eurovia told OnTheWight, “We acknowledge receipt of Mr Andrew Turner MP’s letter of 7th March sent to our Managing Director, Mr Scott Wardrop.

“As a company, Eurovia have engaged with Islanders and provided open and honest responses and we are disappointed to hear that Mr Turner feels we have not answered all the questions posed by the local media and WRAP group, in particular.

“We feel this is not a discussion which should take place in the local media and it is more beneficial to meet with Mr Turner and have a discussion face-to-face. Therefore Mr Wardrop has written to Mr Turner inviting him to meet with us to discuss his concerns.”
