The Virtuous World of Bea and Styng is a world created by local artist and designer Angela Hewitt.
Angela tells us that the Bea and Styng story was inspired when she acquired her nature reserve a Blackwater.
Over the past five years she has managed and developed a neglected ten acre site into a magnificent wild life habitat.
She has increased wild flower and grass species numbers ten fold and in the process has become obsessed by wild bees and their loss of habitat.
Four years developing the story
Angela says, “It’s difficult to explain how the World of Bea and Styng evolved. I have spent my entire life training my mind to think creatively and ideas just pop into my head. It has taken me over four years to develop the story and create the illustrations. The main theme of their world is to promote goodness and happiness – the first (goodness) often brings about the second (happiness).
“There are lots of people now rooting for the wild bee and I am glad that I am able to do my bit via my World of Bea and Styng and via my Brush with Nature schools education programme.”
The World Of Bea And Styng comprises a story book, a recipe book, a range of over 50 greeting cards, an apron and tea towel a tray and available for licensing.
