If you haven’t received your wheelie bin yet, this in from the council may answer your question as to why. In their own words. Ed
The council is continuing to deliver new wheelie bins, food caddies and clear plastic sacks to homes across the Island ahead of the new waste collection arrangements that begin on Monday 30 January.
Deliveries so far have concentrated on the areas that are due a recycling collection in the first week of the new arrangements.
All properties due a collection of recyclable waste in the first week will have received the required receptacles before their collection day and all new wheelie bins and caddies will have been delivered to all properties by the end of next week.
Change to collection days
Details of collection days for individual households are detailed in the letters sent to homes. The collection days for many properties may have changed.
Around 400 properties yet to receive letters will have them delivered by the end of this week. All of these properties are scheduled for a black bag waste (non-recyclable, residual waste) collection next week.
Any residents wanting information about the waste changes can log on to www.iwight.com/waste where there is also a full FAQ section or they can contact Waste Services on 823777.
