It’s that time of year again when Island bands and musicians battle it out in a variety of competitions to win a slot playing at the Isle of Wight Festival.
This time it’s the Wight Noize competition, run by Platform One College of Music.
Organiser Peter Pontin is keen to stress that this is not your typical battle of the bands comp, “This is an opportunity to take part in a professional showcase and get some constructive feedback on your band, your songs and your performance. Playing at the festival is a privilege and bands must work hard for this opportunity and take it seriously”.
We understand that the ‘third’ stage which in previous years has been named The Bandstand and The Acoustic Stage will feature guest appearances from big names as well as local talent.
If you are an musician who wants the chance to play to 60,000 people in June this year, then all you have to do is follow the instructions below.
Best of luck.
