Wightlink Ferries are helping Islander Clive Heathfield from Wootton send urgent supplies to victims of the Philippines typhoon disaster. The cross-Solent ferry operator is donating a free return crossing so he can take donated goods to London to be flown out to the stricken islands.

Daisy Dawes from Customer Relations said,

“When we heard about Clive’s generous action, we wanted to play our part. We are delighted to help get these much-needed supplies started on their journey across the world to families who have lost everything.”

Clive’s partner Marvi Sabio comes from the Philippines herself and lost a close friend in the tragedy. Over the last couple of days, people from across the Isle of Wight have been leaving clothes, bedding and other goods in their garage to be sent out to the islands.

Clive says,

“It’s brilliant that Wightlink can help us get everything to the mainland. Our hearts go out to the people of the Philippines who are suffering so much just before Christmas.”
