This week we are proud to be launching the new online home of Island Sport – WightSport.com.
Our aim is to bring Isle of Wight Sport into the 21st Century, covering every aspect of sport from Football to Pigeon Racing stretching from Cowes to Niton and Bembridge to Freshwater.
Sport on the Island is both passionate and well represented, from our various teams that compete on the Mainland to the local leagues that have been running successfully for many years.
“One stop shop”
This site aims to become your “one stop shop” for all the latest news and results on Island Sport, as well as images, match reports and blog articles from the people involved in them.
The planned evolution of this site will be to create an enhanced and more interactive sporting community, with submitted articles from Island people with an interest in their particular game. Whether they be Chairmen, Coaches, Competitors, Referees or Fans, hopefully everyone will feel they have a voice. We will also provide live coverage of Island sporting events.
If you have any questions, comments or feel like being a contributor, don’t hesitate to e-mail us at [email protected].
We’re on Twitter, Facebook and Twitter too
You can also follow us on Twitter, for the latest Island sports news in no more than 140 characters, and interact with us through Facebook.
If you are out and about at an Island sporting event, why not take a picture and add it to our flickr group.
We are two passionate Islanders and both fans of sport and are participants with local teams, we look forward to making this the online place for Island Sportsmen and women.
