At a ceremony earlier in the week, the Freshwater Bay Golf Club Junior Team and team organiser Steve Orchard were presented with their new team shirts for 2012 competitions.
The presentation was made by Steve Sargeant, Managing Director of LCM Systems and Club Captain Ray Cook.
The Junior Team has been fortunate to have corporate sponsorship from local, Isle of Wight engineering company, LCM Systems.
Rising star previously sponsored by LCM Systems
LCM Systems have been involved in golf sponsorship since 2008, when Totland lad, Brandon Thompson was involved with the club.
Brandon has gone on to do amazing things on the American College Golf scene (he was accepted to Morningside College, Iowa in 2011) and earlier this month, was named GPAC Golfer of the year.
Proud to sponsor junior team
Steve Sargeant, Managing Director at LCM Systems and Captain of the Freshwater Bay Club in 2011 comments: “We are proud to sponsor the Junior team. As well as providing them with an enjoyable sport to play in the open air, golf also requires focus, concentration and dedication and this will equip them with valuable skills for the future. The sport is also very strong on etiquette, so it often helps to shape the way they present themselves away from the golf course”.
The season has already got off to a great start, with the Juniors winning their first match at home to Newport – three and half to a half.
