The William Coppin bar at Coppins Bridge, Newport has confirmed it will be closing at the end of January 2016.
Wetherspoons, who’ve occupied the building since they took over from Chicago Rock in 2009, announced the closure via their Facebook page on Monday.
They told customers
“We regret to inform you that our pub will cease trading on the 31st January 2016.
“We thank all of our loyal customers over the years and hope to see you at one of our other establishments in the future.
“You can find us at The Man In The Moon or SJ Fowlers and Co.”
The popular bar also served food and showed live sporting events. Regular customers have shared their commiserations on the Facebook Page.
Wetherspoons say the premises will be empty for the time being as no-one is scheduled to take over.
All staff have been relocated to either the Man in the Moon in Newport or S. Fowler & Co in Ryde.
