If you’re a wine lover and want the chance to donate to Comic Relief in a more ‘diverse’ way, then Wines of Uruguay UK may be just the thing you’re looking for.
Wine Relief was founded by Jancis Robinson and her husband Nick Lander with the aim of getting wine lovers to help others.
Since the first campaign in 1999, Wine Relief has raised nearly £4 million, and until the 20th March, you can get your hands on some fantastic Uruguayan wine as part of the campaign.
Wines of Uruguay will be donating 10% of the price of the two mixed cases (including the delivery charge) which will go to carefully-monitored, life changing projects in Africa and the UK.
12 bottles are being offered at £140, or six bottles for £50 – both of which can be purchased from the Wines of Uruguay Website.
On the Island
Wines of Uruguay are holding two events this month to help raise cash for this invaluable cause – both can be found on the Events OnTheWight.
They include a tasting room from which they only ask for a voluntary donation, with all proceeds going to WineRelief. If the wines tickle your taste buds and you want to purchase any there and then, 10% will go straight towards this admirable cause.
In addition, Wines of Uruguay will also be supporting the Wine Relief tasting at The Island Wine Company, they’ll be showing amongst their selection, two of the cases wines which they’ve donated.
