Witnesses Sought For Bus Station Assault

telephonePolice are making a fresh appeal for witnesses to come forward after an assault was reported in Newport Bus Station on the Isle of Wight.

Officers were called to the station in Orchard Street shortly before 4pm on Thursday, September 15, 2011.

Woman arrested on suspicion of assault
It was alleged a man aged in his 30s was assaulted by a woman aged in her 40s. Both of them were from the Island.

A 46-year-old woman from Freshwater, Isle of Wight was arrested on September 15, 2011 on suspicion of assault. She was questioned and later released with no further action.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding this report.

Officers know there were a number of witnesses at the bus station who have not come forward yet.
