This morning, ambulances and fire engines were called to Ryde School’s Bembridge boarding campus at Hillway Road.
Paramedics reported at around 10am that a woman had fallen from a ladder on to a raised platform.
Two Fire appliances attended to assist in safely moving the woman from the raised platform to the ground, so she could be transferred to the waiting Air Ambulance.
The concern was over possible spinal injury that might have been caused by the fall. The operation, that was described as ‘delicate’ was completed just before midday.
Our thoughts are with the lady concerned. We’ll update this story when we hear more.
