100 Year Plans For Island Coastline: Have You Commented?

We’ve had reports from some VB readers that they were unable to access the online survey for the draft Shoreline Management Plan 2 at the end of last week.

As readers are aware, the deadline for comments on the draft plan was 23rd October, but we’re told that some people weren’t able to get onto the Website during the last days of the consultation.

What is the Shoreline Management Plan?
The Shoreline Management Plan is a document that outlines the Isle of Wight council’s commitment to how it protects the shoreline around the Island over the next 20, 50 and 100 years.

Lack of active intervention
Many residents have shown concern at the lack of active intervention planned between West Ventnor and Totland for the next 100 years including Ventnor town councillor, Chris Bonney, who was successful in bringing the touring exhibition to Ventnor last week.

Unofficial extension for comments
We understand that if you weren’t able to add comments via the Website last week due to the technical problems experienced, that you can forward your comments this week and they will be included in the consultation.

You can view the full details of the report on the Coastal Wight Website.

You should send your comments to [email protected] any of those listed on the team by the end of this week.
