If you missed out on Paul Jenner’s ‘Ales from Wales Beer Festival‘ last weekend, fear not, you can catch a whole load of real ales from around the UK over the August bank holiday weekend at Havenstreet Steam Railway.
For lovers of traditional ales and cider the Real Ale Festival is always one of the highlights of the August Bank Holiday Island Steam Show.
We understand that there will around 50 different ales to taste over the long weekend which come all across the UK with many coming from small, traditional craft brewers with our own Island breweries making an appearance too.
“There really is something for all of the family at the Island Steam Show and the Real Ale Festival adds to the overall atmosphere – what better than to relax in the sun watching the world go by whilst enjoying a cool glass of tasty, refreshing, traditional ale” said Festival Manager Derek Bishop.
He added “I am proud to be able to offer a chance to sample the 2009 CAMRA Champion Beer of Britain – Rudgate Brewery’s Ruby Mild. I’ve been lucky enough to be able to obtain one cask of this fine ale, awarded its champion accolade at the the recent Great British Beer Festival in London. I hope to have it ‘on tap’ from the Friday lunchtime session and it’s bound to be a fast mover, so get to the show early if you want to taste this year’s champion!”
