This is a hike of of 138 since August, which showed 2,829 unemployed claimants and up 304 from September 2010.
Last month’s figures showed 235 less people on Job Seekers Allowance than Sept 2009 but 1,085 more than September 2006 – five years ago.
3.5% of the resident population of area aged 16-64 is claiming JSA – nearly one percent more than the rest of the South East (2.6%), but nearly half a percent less than the whole of the UK (3.9%).
