Late this afternoon, VentnorBlog interviewed Hovertravel MD, Neil Chapman. Among other things, we became the first people, outside their organisation, to learn some information that will be important to regular Hovertravel users.
Those who read Adam Manning’s letter on VB, will have seen that on Wednesday, at short notice, Hovertravel announced that they would no longer provide vouchers for the Wightlink Catamaran service, if they needed to cancel their service, usually due to adverse weather conditions.
Reversal of decision
Having listened to the feedback from regular Hovertravel customers over the last few days, Neil tells VB that they’ve reversed the decision that was due to take effect from Monday 21 November.
They will continue to provide free vouchers for use for at least a year on the Wightlink catamaran service, should the Hover be suspended. The other benefits that ‘Cancellation repay’ brought, will be retained.
Neil assured us the original decision had no connection to the MCA suspension of the Hover service on Friday. It was just bad timing.
