Child dies after road traffic collision

Our deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends of the ten year old girl who died after being involved in yesterday’s road traffic collision. This in from the Police in their own words. Ed

Daisy:A 10-year-old girl seriously injured in a road traffic collision on the Isle of Wight has sadly died.

The girl was a passenger in a Subaru Jesty which was involved in a collision with a Ford Puma on the A3020 Cowes Road in Newport at around 8.30pm on Friday, August 24.

Parents have life-threatening injuries
The girl’s parents, a 44-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman, also suffered life-threatening injuries and are both in a serious condition in hospital.

The driver of the Ford Puma, a 30-year-old man from Sandown, was arrested at the scene. He also suffered serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment at St Mary’s Hospital.
