If you’re a regular at live music events and festivals on the Isle of Wight, you’re bound to have seen the lovely Lucy Boynton, up by the stage and in between the audience, clicking away with her camera.
We’re big fans of Lucy’s work, which she has generously shared with us in the past to help illustrate some of the great events taking place on the Isle of Wight, so were chuffed to hear that she’d secured not one, but two exhibitions this year.
Lucy has been taking photos for about 12 years or so, but it’s in the last four that’s she’s rarely seen without her camera in hand.
Camera on Kashmir
Her first exhibition of the year takes place at Quay Arts in the Rope Store Gallery between 23rd February and 12th April.
It features carefully selected photographs taken at the Quay’s very own Kashmir Cafe tent at the Isle of Wight Festival.
You can help Lucy celebrate the opening of her exhibition on Sunday 23rd Feb from 7pm, when a free live music event takes place in the cafe. Should be a great night and no doubt will feature some of the musicians captured in print in the gallery.
Rhythmtree by Lucy Boynton
Lucy’s second exhibition takes place over in Freshwater at Dimbola Museum and Galleries.
The exhibition, which features “interesting and slightly quirky interpretations of classic stage photography” from the world music festival, Rhythmtree, which takes place in Calbourne each July.
Lucy’s prints will be on display between 3rd May to 2nd July. Make sure you check them out.
If you just can’t wait until then, check out Lucy Boynton Photography on Facebook which has a wide selection of her work.
