Traffic Plan
The Isle of Wight council released their Traffic Plan on 5th June (see full details here).

Full details of all road closures can be found here.

The main route for festival traffic from the Red Funnel terminal at East Cowes will be up York Avenue and along Whippingham Road where it will turn right onto East Cowes Road and into the red festival car park.

Cross-Solent travel
All cross-Solent carriers are expected to be pushed to capacity with festival-goers heading over by car or foot on Thursday and Friday.

Hovertravel are running additional services Thursday and Friday. Passengers are advised to allow additional time when travelling from Southsea over these two days, due to the high number of passengers expected.

A word from the police
Hampshire Constabulary’s Isle of Wight Roads Policing Unit (RPU) Sergeant Dave Sanderson said:

“We were pleased last year with the significant efforts from festival organisers Solo in re-designing and reinforcing their traffic management plans.

“Teamwork involving all agencies will remain crucial to keeping residents and visitors on the move safely.”

Sergeant Sanderson added:

“Some delays will be inevitable so I would remind all road users to allow more time for their journeys during the week of the festival.

“Motorists putting lives at risk on the roads will be dealt with robustly by my officers who will be on regular patrols.”

The presence and support of Community Safety Accredited AA Traffic Control Officers; engaged by the event promoters is very welcome for a second year. These Traffic Control Officers have conferred police powers to direct and control traffic on roads so it is important that drivers comply with directions given. They are working in partnership alongside the festival to keep traffic flowing on our roads.
