The 48 year old woman from Ryde, who last month attended a remand hearing after being arrested and charged with ‘grievous bodily harm with intent’ appeared in court again this week.
She was arrested on 4th June accused of throwing a corrosive liquid, revealed at the June remand hearing to be caustic soda (a corrosive compound used to clean drains), on a 22 year old victim from Sandown, causing serious facial and upper body burns.
No plea entered
According to a report in the County Press today, no plea was entered by the woman on Monday, who is due to return to court in August.
The report states that if the charge is denied, she’ll face a three-day trial in Portsmouth near the end of November.
Victim discharged from hospital
The 22 year old who suffered serious burns to her face and upper body, who was being treated at a specialist burns unit at Salisbury District Hospital, has now been discharged.
