BRADING:
Quay Lane will be closed from 9am on Monday 10 November 2014 until approx. 4pm on Friday 30 January 2015 between High Street and a point 735 metres to the East of the junction with High Street. The closure is necessary for the construction of a new water main across Quay Lane railway bridge for the connection into the existing water main by Clancy Docwra for Southern Water. There is no diversion route however access will be maintained in emergency situations. Access to premises will be maintained overnight during the works. Marshcombe Shute. One way restriction. A one way restriction is in operation in Marshcombe Shute in an Eastbound direction (towards Bembridge) from a point 45 metres to the East of Yarbridge Crossroads to Yaverland Road junction from 3.30pm on Tuesday 16 September until approx. December 2014 or January 2015. The one way restriction is necessary due to the installation of larger temporary safety barriers which have been erected in the interests of road safety by Island Roads adjacent to the railway and River Yar bridges. Permanent safety barriers will be installed in the near future which will enable the road to be re-opened to two way traffic. A full road closure of a few days will be required. The alternative route for all traffic travelling in a Westbound towards Yarbridge Crossroads Brading direction will be;

Ranalagh Road will also be closed from Cliff Road to a point 10 metres to the west of Cliff Road.

RYDE REMEMBRANCE DAY MEMORIAL TUE 11 NOVEMBER 2014 At 10.50am a parade organised by the Royal British Legion will proceed from the top of St James Street to the shrine in Lind Street outside Ryde Town Hall. At 11am two minutes silence will be observed. The parade will then march back into St James Street. The memorial should end at approx. 11.10am.

North Walk, Ryde from point 250 metres to the west of Canoe Lake Road to a point 100 metres to the west of the Canoe Lake Road between 8am on Monday 15 September until approx. 4.30pm on Friday 14 November 2014 for the construction of a new pumping station by K Coghlan for the Isle of Wight Council. Some parking will be available in the first section of North Walk, nearest to the Esplanade during the works. Esplanade will be closed for a short period on Sunday 9 November 2014 between Pier Street and Avenue Slipway and Esplanade Road will also be closed from High Street to Esplanade. The closure is to enable a Remembrance Sunday Parade and commemoration to take place. The Parade is due to start from outside the Sandown Pier at 10.25am and should arrive at Esplanade junction with Esplanade Road at the War Memorial at approximately 10.40am. A service and wreath laying will then take place. The road will be re-opened at approx. 11.30am.

ST LAWRENCE:
A3055 Undercliff Drive will remain closed from St Catherine’s Road to Seven Sisters Road (Western Junction), between Barrington Lodge, near to the western junction with Seven Sisters Road and Mirables which is located about a mile towards Niton
Following significant ground movement in the area in early February 2014, Undercliff Drive has been physically closed between Mirables (in the west) and a point 560 metres to the West of Seven Sisters Road (in the east) for safety reasons. There is now no access for vehicles or pedestrians. The Isle of Wight Council, working with partner agencies including Island Roads and with support from the army, led an operation in February to help residents of nine properties in Undercliff Drive (in an area known as ‘Woodlands’) remove possessions from their homes after they were advised to leave for safety reasons. A formal road and footpath closure will be in operation from Saturday 15 February for the foreseeable future. Island Roads’ work in the road has been suspended and the road will remain closed until the ground has stabilised and further monitoring can be carried out to determine its future.
