Further to news broken by OnTheWight last week about the problems with Wootton Bridge, Island Roads have today issued a weight limit on Wootton Bridge for the foreseeable future.
This is coupled with a speed restriction of 20mph.
A notice issued by Island Roads today reads,
A3054 High Street (at Wootton Bridge).
A temporary 18 Tonne Weight Limit will be in operation from 3.30pm on Wednesday 15 July 2015 for the foreseeable future in the interests of road safety due to a weak bridge.A 20 mile per hour speed restriction will also be in operation in A3054 High Street / Kite Hill, Wootton from New Road to Firestone Copse Road.
