ARRETON:
A3056 Hale Common (between Fighting Cocks Pub and Watery Lane (at Fighting Cocks Cross) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation for a few hours on one day between Monday 19 October and Friday 23 October 2015 (weather permitting). The traffic lights should only be undertaken between 9.30am until 3.30pm for safety surfacing works by Crownpark Builders. Some traffic delays will occur.
BRADING:
A3055 Rowborough Lane will be closed from 8pm until approx. 6am on each night (Mondays to Fridays) between approx. Monday 12 October and Tuesday 20 October 2015 (weather and other circumstances permitting) from Coach Lane to Carpenters Road. The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage, kerbing and verge works by Island Roads. The alternative route for traffic is; A3055 High Street (Brading) and New Road, Marshcombe Shute, Sandown Road, Steyne Road, Foreland Road, High Street (Bembridge), Church Road, Kings Road, Embankment Road, Station Road, Upper Green Road and Carpenters Road.
CALBOURNE:
Lynch Lane will be closed from 9am on Monday 12 October until 6pm on Friday 23 October 2015 between Freshwater Road (at Calbourne Crossroads) and the entrance to Brighstone Forest (Jubilee) Car Park( near Strawberry Lane). The closure is for the relining of 250 metres of sewer between School Lane and number 3 Lynch Lane by DynoRod (P Fitzsimmonds) for Southern Water.The alternative route for vehicles will be; Freshwater Road, Shalcombe Road, Brook Road, Brook Hill, Brighstone Road, Hunny Hill, Main Road (Brighstone), Moortown Lane and Lynch Lane.
Freshwater Road (between Lodge Farm and bend near to Calbourne Mill).
Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4pm on Wednesday 21 October and Thursday 22 October 2015 for tree cutting works by Nigel Early Services. Some traffic delays are likely.
CARISBROOKE:
Clatterford Road (outside 24) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Tuesday 17 November until approx. 5pm on Friday 21 November 2015 for the installation of a new gas service by SGN. Some traffic delays will occur.
EAST COWES:
Victoria Grove / Adelaide Grove will be closed from 7am until approx. 6pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between approx. Monday 12 October and Friday 23 October 2015 (weather and other circumstances permitting) from York Avenue (opposite number 198 /200) to York Avenue (opposite York Avenue Garage). The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage, kerbing and verge works by Island Roads. The alternative route for traffic is; York Avenue.
Esplanade will be closed from 2.30pm on Friday 25 April 2014 for the foreseeable future between 375 metres to the northeast of Cambridge Road and the end of the highway 860 metres to the northeast of Cambridge Road. There is no alternative route for traffic. This closure is necessary to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road due to a landslip.
FRESHWATER:
A3055 Military Road (near Brook Chine Car Park). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation at times from until 3.30pm on Friday 30 October 2015 for carriageway repair works by Island Roads. There may be some traffic delays.
GODSHILL:
A3020 Shanklin Road (outside Sandford Farm) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Monday 9 November until approx. 4.30pm on Friday 13 November 2015 for the installation of a new gas service by SGN. Some traffic delays will occur.
HAVENSTREET:
Havenstreet Main Road (from Railway Bridge to Nursing Home, by Speeds Lane). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Thursday 22 October until 4pm on Friday 23 October 2015 for footway resurfacing works by Island Roads. There may be some traffic delays.
LAKE:
Ranalagh Road / Cliff Road / Cliff Path. From 1200hrs on Friday 18 July 2014 for the foreseeable future the following roads / path will be closed to vehicular traffic:
Cliff Road / Cliff Path will be closed from point 55 metres to the northwest of the junction with Ranalagh Road to point 185 metres to the south west of the junction with Cliff Gardens (the southern boundary of number 6). Ranalagh Road will also be closed from Cliff Road to a point 10 metres to the west of Cliff Road. During the period of closure there is no alternative route for vehicles. The closure is required due to erosion.
Pedestrian access will be maintained as usual.
NEWBRIDGE:
Main Road (approx. 250 metres Newbridge Village side of Dodpits Lane). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation when necessary from 9am on Monday 14 September until approx. Friday 18 December 2015 in the interests of safety during the construction of a new solar farm by Anesco Ltd. Some traffic delays may occur.
NETTLESTONE:
Eddington Road (on the St Helens side of St Helens Church for a distance 40 metres) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 6.30am on Wednesday 19 October until Friday 21 October 2015 for kerbing works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
NEWPORT:
Post Office Lane will be closed to pedestrians from 9am on Monday 19 October until approx. 4pm on Friday 23 October 2015 from High Street to Lugley Street. The closure is required for the installation of a new electric service connection by Scottish & Southern Energy. The alternative route for pedestrians will be; High Street, St James Street and Lugley Street.
Long Lane (approx. 250 meters from Robin Hill Roundabout, towards Newport) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30pm on each day between Monday 19 October and Friday 23 October 2015 for kerbing, drainage and verge works by Island Roads.
There may be some traffic delays.
NITON:
Chatfield Road (approx. 200 metres on the Whitwell side of Niton). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9.30am until 4.30pm on each day between Wednesday 14 October and Friday 16 October 2015 for road gully repair works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Church Street will be closed between Blackgang Road and Star Inn Road from 9am until 3.30pm on 2 days during the period between Monday 19 October and Friday 23 October 2015. The closure is required for carriageway repair works by Island Roads and the following one way restrictions will be suspended during the works; 1): Church Street, Niton from Blackgang Road to Star Inn Road and 2): Blackgang Road, Niton from with Star Inn Road to Church Street The alternative route for vehicles will be; Blackgang Road and Star Inn Road.
NORTHWOOD:
Pallance Road (outside 109) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Monday 12 October until approx. 5pm on Friday 16 October 2015 for the installation of a new gas service by SGN. Some traffic delays will occur.
RYDE:
High Street / Lind Street / St Thomas Square (from Church Lane into Union Street and from the Crown Hotel 30 metres towards Garfield Road). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am until 4.30pm when required between Monday 5 October and Sunday 30 October 2015 for footway works by Island Roads. Some traffic delays will occur.
The Strand will be closed between East Street and West Hill Road from 9am on Friday 21 November 2014 until Tuesday 25 August 2015 and from Monday 7 September until Friday 23 October 2015. The closure is for a Sewer Flood Alleviation Scheme to upsize the existing sewer pipeline.The diversion route will be; West Street, Dover Street and Esplanade. Works are due to start near to the junction with West Hill Road.
Simeon Street will be closed from 9am on Monday 9 March until 4pm on Friday 16 October 2015 between The Strand and Monkton Street. The diversion route will be: The Strand and Monkton Street. The closure is for a sewer flood alleviation scheme to upsize a sewer pipeline. Access to premises and businesses will be maintained from one end of the road as far as possible during the works.
East Street will be closed from 9am on Thursday 15 October until 4pm on Monday 26 October 2015 between The Strand and Dover Street. The diversion route will be: East Street, Monkton Street, Melville Street, Dover Street, Esplanade and The Strand. The closure is for a sewer flood alleviation scheme to upsize a sewer pipeline. Access to premises and businesses will be maintained from one end of the road as far as possible during the works.
Spencer Road (junction with Buckland Gardens) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8.30am on Monday 14 September until approx. 4.30pm on Friday 27 November 2015 for gas main replacement works by SGN. Some traffic delays will occur.
A3055 Appley Road (various locations between Marlborough Road and Easthill Road). Temporary traffic control will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30pm on each day between Monday 26 October and Wednesday 28 October 2015 for kerbing works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
A3055 Marlborough Road will be closed between 8pm and 6am on each night (Mondays to Fridays) between approx. Wednesday 21 October and Tuesday 27 October 2015 (weather and other circumstances permitting) from Bullen Road to Appley Road. The alternative route for traffic is; Great Preston Road, Alexandra Road and A3055 Appley Road. The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage, kerbing and verge works by Island Roads.
Puckpool Hill (various locations from Appley Road to Springvale Road) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation at times from 9am on Tuesday 27 October until 4pm on Wednesday 4 November 2015 for footway resurfacing works by Island Roads. There may be some traffic delays.
SEAVIEW:
Old Seaview Lane will be closed between 6.30am on Monday 5 October until 6pm on Friday 23 October 2015 from Madeira Road to Seaview Lane. The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage, kerbing and verge works by Island Roads. The third section of the works started on Wednesday 14 October 2015 will be from Somerset Road to just below Solent View Road and should take approx. 1 -2 weeks to complete. The alternative route for traffic is; Madeira Road, Church Street, Ryde Road and Steyne Road.
SHANKLIN:
Cliff Path will be closed from 9.30am on Monday 20 January 2014 for the foreseeable future to pedestrians from Skew Bridge Path to Winchester House Car Park. The closure is required due to erosion/ land movement. During the period of closure the alternative route for pedestrians will be; Skew Bridge Path, A3055 Sandown Road and Winchester House Car Park.
Church Road (from St Blasius Church to near Holm Farm outside number 60). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Monday 26 October until 4pm on Friday 30 October 2015 for footway resurfacing works by Island Roads. There may be some traffic delays.
A3055 High Street (outside 75 to 77, at junction with A3020 Victoria Avenue). Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 8am on Monday 28 September until approx. 8am on Sunday 1 November 2015 due to scaffolding erected for building works by SDS Scaffolding. Some additional traffic delays are likely.
Atherley Road will be closed from approx. 7.30pm until 6am each night (Mondays to Fridays) between approx. Friday 16 October until Tuesday 20 October 2015 (weather and other circumstances permitting) from Regent Street to North Road. The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage, kerbing and verge works by Island Roads. The alternative route for traffic is: South Eastbound: High Street, Beachfield Road, and Broadway and North Westbound: A3055 Broadway, Station Avenue, Albert Road and Victoria Road.
Landguard Road will be closed from approx. 8pm until 6am each night (Mondays to Fridays) between approx. Wednesday 21 October until Friday 23 October 2015 (weather and other circumstances permitting) from Marine Cross Road to High Street. The one- way restriction between Collingwood Road and High Street will be temporarily suspended during the works to allow access. The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage, kerbing and verge works by Island Roads. The alternative route for traffic is: The alternative route for traffic is; Landguard Road, Landguard Manor Road, Green Lane, Cemetery Road, A3055 Sandown Road, Arthurs Hill, North Road and High Street.
SHORWELL:
Corve Hill / Park Road will be closed between 7am and 6pm from Farriers Way to Atherfield Road on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Tuesday 13 October and Tuesday 20 October 2015. The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage, kerbing and verge works by Island Roads. The alternative route for traffic is; Farriers Way, Walkers Lane, Limerstone Road, Short Lane, Muggleton Lane, Mill Lane, Samber Hill and New Road.
Atherfield Road will be closed between 7am and 6pm from Park Lane to Southdown Lane on each day (Mondays to Fridays) on Tuesday 20 October 2015 (weather and other circumstances permitting). The alternative route for traffic is; Park Lane, Corve Hill, Sandy Way, Presford Shute, Kingston Road, Emmett Hill, Chale Lane and Pyle Shute. The closure is for carriageway and footway repairs, resurfacing, drainage, kerbing and verge works by Island Roads.
ST HELENS:
Station Road will be closed from Downs View Road to St Helens Bridge between 9am and 4pm on each day (Mondays to Fridays) between Monday 26 October and Friday 6 November 2015 for tree cutting and removal works by Groundsell Contracting. The works are located from just above Latimer Road to St Helens Bridge. Diversion route: B3330 Upper Green Road and Carpenters Road, A3055 Rowborough Lane, High Street (Brading) and New Road, B3395 Marshcombe Shute, Sandown Road, Steyne Road, Forelands Road, High Street (Bembridge), Church Road, Kings Road and Embankment Road.
ST LAWRENCE:
A3055 Undercliff Drive will remain closed from St Catherine’s Road to Seven Sisters Road (Western Junction), between Barrington Lodge, near to the western junction with Seven Sisters Road and Mirables which is located about a mile towards Niton. Following significant ground movement in the area in early February 2014, Undercliff Drive has been physically closed between Mirables (in the west) and a point 560 metres to the West of Seven Sisters Road (in the east) for safety reasons. There is now no access for vehicles or pedestrians. A formal road and footpath closure will be in operation for the foreseeable future. Access to businesses and attractions in Undercliff Drive will be maintained. During the period of closure the alternative route for traffic will be;
Pedestrians; A3055 Undercliff Drive, Public Footpath V81, V77, NT28, NT29, NT30 and A3055 Undercliff Drive. Cyclists and Equestrians; A3055 Undercliff Drive, Seven Sisters Road, St Lawrence Shute, Whitwell Road, Ventnor Road, High Street (Whitwell), Kemming Road, Chatfield Road, Rectory Road, High Street (Niton), Institute Hill, Barrack Shute and A3055 Undercliff Drive.
VENTNOR:
Longdown Steps Public Footpath V102 will be closed from 10am on Monday 12 May 2014 for the foreseeable future between South Street and St Catherine’s Street. This closure is necessary to avoid danger to persons using the footpath until wall repair works have been undertaken. The diversion route for pedestrians will be; South Street, West Street, High Street, Victoria Street, Wheelers Bay Road and St Catherine’s Street.
Castle Road (between Zig Zag Road and Gills Cliff Road) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from Tuesday 30 December 2014 until approx. mid November 2015 until retaining wall works have been completed by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Newport Road (various locations between Rew Lane and Down Lane). Temporary traffic control will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30pm on each day between Monday 26 October and Friday 30 October 2015 for kerbing works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
WHIPPINGHAM:
Public Footpath N214 will be closed from Crematorium Road to Public Footpath N114 between 9am on Wednesday 5 August 2015 and 9am on Friday 26 February 2016. The closure is required until urgent repair works have been undertaken to B171 Whippingham Cattle Creep. The alternative route for pedestrians is; Crematoriums Road, A3054 Lushington Hill, Racecourse and Fairlee Road.
WOOTTON:
Brocks Copse Road (junction with Palmers Road) Temporary traffic lights will be in operation from 9am on Tuesday 6 October until approx. 4.30pm on Friday 23 October 2015 for gas main replacement works by SGN. Some traffic delays will occur.
WROXALL:
Clarence Road (various locations between Mountfield Road and Rew Lane). Temporary traffic control will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30pm on each day between Wednesday 21 October and Friday 23 October 2015 for kerbing hedge cutting and quartering works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
Newport Road (various locations between Rew Lane and Down Lane, access road to Ventnor Down). Temporary traffic control will be in operation from 9.30am until 3.30pm on each day between Monday 26 October and Friday 30 October 2015 for kerbing works by Island Roads. Traffic delays will occur.
