2021 Isle of Wight Scooter Rally’s annual Ride Out captured from scooter and roadside (videos)

Last weekend saw over 1,000 scooterists descend on the Island for the annual Isle of Wight Scooter Rally.

Although camping and entertainment was mostly based at Sandown Airport this year, the scooterists spent a great deal of time in Ryde and on Sunday the annual Ride Out from the seaside town attracted huge crowds of spectators. It’s thought around 1,200 to 1,300 scooterists take part.

Filmed from a scooter
Local filmmaker, Paul Knights, took part in the Ride Out and shot this video from his scooter.

It gives the viewer a great perspective of what it’s like to be part of the long line of scooters travelling from Ryde to Sandown.

From the roadside
Rob Yalden was standing at the side of the road watching the Ride Out when he shot this video below – it really gives you an idea of just how many people attended, not only the scooterists, but also the spectators.

A wander around
This 18-minute video by Kittikoko takes a more indepth tour of the scooters on the green in Ryde.
