In two weeks time, (2nd April) local film maker, David George will be showing his five short films about Isle of Wight artists at the Quay Arts Centre in Newport.
David George has had a long career in theatre and television including many seasons with the National Theatre as well as touring both nationally and overseas.
He knows a thing or two film-making, his company, Utility Films, has made over twenty films on all manner of subjects such as drug use, fire safety, child protection and road safety.
David said “It has been a privilege to work with such an inspiring group of artists. I hope these films will give insight into how and why artists make the work they do.”
David’s short film about Eric Geddes shown last year at Quays Arts received wide praise encouraging him to continue in the series.
Next week sees films studies of Janice Thwaites, Colin Riches, Jenny Clayden, Derek Barran as well as the original Eric Geddes film and there’ll be an opportunity to chat to the director and artists after the screening.
