The trial of the new equipment to remove rotting seaweed from the Haven in Ventnor was successful, so council are agreeing a contract with Cheetah Marine to remove seaweed in future.
The project begins on 1st May and will look at sustainable ways to remove the seaweed from Ventnor Harbour - something that currently costs the tax payer £87,500 a year
Despite the East Cowes town council offering their full support to residents seeking to obtain DEFRA Bathing Water Designation for East Cowes beach, they've since done a u-turn. Residents want the issue discussed this month.
