An application for a biomass incinerator on the banks of the River Medina has been lodged with the council by Isle of Wight Grain Ltd to fuel a new grain dryer.
An extension of 12 months has been proposed for the preferred bidder status for the biomass plant at Stag Lane, as well as powers for Cabinet member to approve further extensions under delegated powers.

A campaign group, Isle of Wight Biofuelwatch UK group, has been set up to oppose the proposed biomass plant at Stag Lane. They're holding a public meeting on 27th October and invite residents along to hear their concerns.
