The final act of the Extreme 40s Series comes to an end in Sydney. It was a challenging and tense end to the series, but Isle of Wight sailor, Leigh McMillan, did not disappoint.
Leigh McMillan’s tactician on board The Wave Muscat, Sarah Ayton, has made a huge impact in the Extreme Sailing Series and has now been awarded the International Sailing Federation Rolex World Sailor of the Year 2015.

Disappointment for Island sailor Leigh McMillan and his team, but at least they had the satisfaction of gaining a place on the last day and finishing in second place in Act 8, as well as being second in the Series overall.
For the opening day at the Extreme Sailing Series Act 6 in Istanbul, there was some extraordinary racing with every team pushing hard, including Island sailor Leigh McMillan.

Congratulations to the crew on Oman Sail who smashed a World Record after sailing around Britain and Ireland in just three days and three hours. Watch out for others competing in the race passing the Island today.
