The Island has seen an increase of 66.5% of Islanders registered with dementia and a total increase from 0.6% to 1% total prevalence compared to the national prevalence of 0.4% in 2006/07 to 0.5% in 2011/12.
Based in Newport, St Mary’s is the only hospital on the Isle of Wight, serving the whole Island.
As well as general hospital services, St Mary’s is also home to the Beacon Health Centre, a walk-in surgery open 8am-8pm daily.
