Negotiations can now start to secure the 25 year lease between the Isle of Wight council and the Ventnor Town Council for the continued use of the Coastal Centre at Salisbury Gardens.
UKIP Councillor, Graham Perks voted against the proposal to treat Ventnor Town Council as a Special Purchaser of the Coastal Centre at Salisbury Gardens. It made no difference to the outcome of the vote though and the support of the Scrutiny Committee was recorded.
A visiting representative from the Office for Civil Society (OCS) praised the Ventnor Town Council for their community engagement, saying it had not gone unnoticed.
The purpose of the Association is to support and assist the elected Independent members and to follow the Bell Principles and the Framework for Change.
The Ventnor Town Council's efforts in securing community buildings and services in the town has attracted praise from the Communities Minister, Don Foster MP.
