Following the recent launch of the government-funded Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant on the Isle of Wight, the Additional Restrictions Grant is now open for applications.
Businesses linked to the tourism, hospitality, and leisure sector which do not qualify for the Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant are encouraged to apply to the Isle of Wight Council for a share of the government grant funding.

Businesses should apply online for the grant at the Isle of Wight Council’s website, which has more information and guidance, including information on eligibility.
The Island has been allocated £192,469 by government to support businesses severely impacted by the rise of the omicron variant but who cannot apply to the Omicron Hospitality and Leisure Grant (OHLG).
Who is eligible?
The types of business likely to be eligible for the Additional Restrictions Grant are those in the supply chain or linked to the tourism, hospitality, and leisure sector, but which are not eligible to apply for OHLG.
These could for example be operating from business-rated premises, from home, or in a place where they are not the ratepayer, such as shared premises.
Don’t miss the deadline
All applications need to be submitted to the council online by 23.59 on Monday 14th February 2022.
The council will consider all the applications received before deciding how to allocate the limited funding available, with all payments made by Thursday 31st March 2022.
Jones-Evans: Don’t want eligible businesses that were impacted to miss out
Cllr Julie Jones-Evans said,
“If your business was directly impacted by the omicron restrictions, my advice is to check the guidance and see if you can apply.
“It’s only a small fund, but we don’t want eligible businesses that were impacted to miss out.”
